Nestled along the shores of Lake Superior in Marquette, Michigan this kitchen was re-imagined to match how the homeowners actually live and work. What was once an overbuilt wall of cabinetry with wasted space is now an open, functional layout anchored by a large built-in table where the couple can work from home while looking out over Marquette's Lower Harbor. We swapped the original oak for warm cherry cabinetry, replaced dated tile with rich hardwood flooring, and transformed an underused walkway into a dedicated pantry and coffee bar. Shelving throughout gives the homeowners' well-traveled art collection room to breathe, turning the kitchen into both a functional workspace and a gallery for the pieces they've gathered from around the world.
