Why should I hire a licensed contractor?
Licensing establishes your contractor meets industry protocols and standards required to work in our state. Licensing is also necessary to obtain all required project permits. Hiring a licensed contractor is the foundation projects need to meet the high standards of our local building codes.

Why is it important that your contractor is insured?
To protect yourself, any contractor you hire must carry general liability and worker's compensation insurance.

General liability insurance is protection for accidental damage to your home caused by the contractor. This is where the real cost of an uninsured contractor too often becomes vividly clear. Do not expect your homeowner's policy to cover inferior work. 

Worker’s compensation insurance protects you should an employee get injured on your property. Uninsured contractor employee injuries become your responsibility as the property owner. Your homeowner's policy may cover some of the claim, but you are responsible for the deductible and it will be a rating factor on your policy.

Depending on the scope of the project, usually yes. We know that a renovation can be stressful so we want to ease that stress with a clean work environment, trustworthy employees and a project that finishes on time.

 
Do all jobs require a permit?
If you are planning normal maintenance or repairs such as painting, flooring or minor cosmetic work a permit is typically not required. All new construction, additions, alterations, remodeling and any electrical, plumbing or mechanical work requires a permit. No need to worry about it though, we’ll take care of it for you.
